- Riverfire Festival (942 Main Street, Berlin) Each fall the city of Berlin hosts the annual Riverfire Festival, a day of classic fall fun complete with hayrides, kids’ Halloween costume contests, a zombie themed poker run, food and beer vendors, and so much more. The festival concludes with a roaring fire display set aflame on the Androscoggin River, and you can join in on the fun on Saturday, October 14, 2023!
- The Granite Grind (70 Main Street, Lancaster) Cozy up to a warm cup of specialty coffee and a fresh pastry or sandwich at the Granite Grind on your way through downtown Lancaster!
- Groveton Covered Bridge (U.S. Route 3, Groveton) Don’t miss the sight of foliage along the Upper Ammonoosuc River framing a picture-perfect view of the 170-year-old Groveton Covered Bridge. If you have time to spare, pack a picnic and enjoy a meal on the pedestrian-only bridge while passing through.
- Great North Woods Center for the Arts (1993 US Rte. 3, Stewartstown) Between fall craft fairs and live performances planned throughout the season, there’s always a reason to visit the Great North Woods Center for the Arts. Be sure to check out their online calendar for a list of upcoming events!
- Huntington Cascades Hike (Stewartstown) This trek clocks in at less than a mile round trip and features two sets of cascades carving through thick forests that shine with brilliant foliage colors during autumn. The sight is well worth the effort, just don’t forget to bring your camera!
- Buck Rub Pub (2253 Main Street, Pittsburg) The Buck Rub Pub has been serving its beloved cuisine for more than 30 years. Stop in and enjoy a hearty meal at this Great North Woods landmark before gearing up for your next adventure!
- Scott Bog Bike Ride (Pittsburg) A brisk bike ride through forested trails is the perfect fall activity to get out and stretch your legs on a road trip! This 3.5-mile gravel path tours riders along a relatively flat route to Scott Bog where bikers can enjoy more views of foliage.
- Moose Alley (Located along the last 12 miles of U.S. Rte 3 in Pittsburg towards the Canadian Border) Early to mid-Fall is a prime time for moose viewing, and this section of Route 3 is known as Moose Alley for a reason. The region is home to the state’s largest density of moose, and Moose Alley attracts people from all over who are looking to see one of these majestic beasts in the wild. If you’re looking for the best chance at spotting one, plan to head out around sunrise or sunset!
